Maria Belen Nilson

Born in Argentina, Belen moved to Mexico immediately after graduating from the University there.  She was only 21 but had long admired the Mexican culture and country.

After teaching literature in Mexico City for a few years, she met and married a jewelry designer.  They met in Morelos but ended up living in San Miguel Allende, Palenque and finally moved to Taxco, Mexico’s “Silver City”.

It was here in 1994, that Belen began her own jewelry business. Recently divorced and with 3 daughters to raise, she set up her own workshop.

We offer her “Limay-co” line (named after her youngest daughter) – a dramatic collection of work which employs the reticulation technique.
